Sarah Roemer may have stopped screaming -- at least for now -- but she should never stop drinking coffee.

When she was 15, Roemer told Daniel Torday of BNet, she was on her way to school in Coronado, CA and stopped for coffee at a 7-11. A man approached her and, as Roemer remembered it, said: "You look pretty good for 6 in the morning. But I need to hear from your mother, not you."

This led to a number of Southern California modeling jobs. Then, at 17. Roemer moved to New York.

After a few acting lessons and more model gigs, she was approached again in a coffee shop -- this time, by the man who became her manager. He got Roemer a part in the dark indie teen drama, Wristcutters: A Love Story, and that led to roles in Grudge 2 and Asylum.

Her film breakthrough came when she was paired with Shia LeBoeuf in Distrubia, a taut thriller about two teenagers spying on a suburban neighbor with a homicidal secret. She and LeBoeuf also became linked romantically.

According to Variety: "A beneficiary of the exploding horror film renaissance of the mid-2000’s, newcomer Sarah Roemer firmly established herself as an heir apparent to the title of 'celluloid scream queen,' thanks to her performances in three high-profile genre pics. A surprise hit at the box office, Disturbia racked up an impressive $22 million in its opening weekend and transformed the gorgeous Roemer into a hot property, virtually overnight.

"Next," Roemer said at the time, "I'd like to do something where I'm noit running and screaming."

She got her wish in a movie titled Hachi: A Dog's Story, where she worked with Hollywood veterans Richard Gere and Joan Allen.

Now bi-coastal at the age of 25, Roemer was never shy about using her good looks to propel herself forward. The apex of her modeling career was a cover shot in the Sportswear International magazine. Meanwhile, at 17, she posed for Maxim magazine, and she has also been featured in Gentleman's Quarterly.

Roemer's upcoming projects include the films Love Child, with Donald Sutherland, and Waking Madison, billed as an "indie thriller."

It remains to be seen whether she can still scream.
