She was born in Australia in 1943 and found her way to the states. Dr. Helen Quinn came to the states for the better education and she found it attending Harvard for four years and obtaining a PhD from Stanford.
Dr. Helen Quinn has contributed greatly to the world of science through her research and persistent studies. She worked with Howard Georgi and Steven Weinberg on a single constant coupling theory. Together, the three wrote an extensive paper on the concept of electromagnetic coupling and the constants found through the coupling.
With Robert Peccei, Quinn also worked on what later became known as the Peccei-Quinn Symmetry. She has been credited with numerous contributions to educational papers and she has won various awards for the work that she's performed.
Dr. Helen Quinn is or has been a fellow at the following societies as well: The American Physical Society, Alfred Sloan Foundation, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Most of her career has been spent at Harvard or Stanford. However, all of her degrees were obtained from Stanford in the 1960s.
In 2000, she won the Dirac Medal for her work with Georgi and Pati. She is married and the couple has two grown children.
