Every kingdom has a ruler and in mythology, it isn’t any different. Zeus has the reins to the kingdom of gods and is considered the ruler of Mount Olympus, which is the highest mountain in Greece.
The stories in mythology are numerous but many of them have one common element. A lot of the stories will always include mention of Zeus. He was the god of the sky and of thunder with the stone symbol of a thunderbolt often viewed in his hand. His other symbols, such as the eagle or bull weren’t always mentioned in the stories. However, Zeus is often captured with the thunderbolt. The oak was another one of his symbols but again, there isn’t a lot of portrayal of Zeus with the oak.
Zeus was the son of Cronus and Rhea. He was their youngest child. He was the father of Aphrodite or so it was often stated in the various stories of mythology. He was married to Hera but he had various affairs in various forms that produced several children.
Zeus was the leader over all of the Greek Olympian Pantheon and he was and is typically portrayed as the dominant character. Overall, the stories in Greek Mythology that capture Zeus portray him in the light that he was Greek Mythology, always at the core of it overseeing the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus.
