Fermin Cacho Ruiz was born in February of 1969. A Spanish athlete, Fermin Cacho Ruiz was the winner of the 1992 Summer Olympics. The win allowed Fermin to earn the respect of his fellow athletes and fans from around the world. The win also allowed him to stake his claim in the 1500m proving that he belonged there among the best.

The accomplishments that Fermin Cacho achieved as an athlete included a 1990 second-place finish in the European Indoor Championship in Glasgow along with others. He was in the Olympic Games in Barcelona and performed to remarkable standards. He paced himself just right throughout the race and went on to win the gold on the final lap of the 1500m.

Ironically, the race in Barcelona was a race where all of the athletes kept up a more pedestrian-run throughout the race. On the final lap, the sprint turned out to be a tale of true athletes where Fermin was able to sprint to the finish line and take the first place win.

In 1997, Fermin Cacho Ruiz won the silver medal when he finished the World Championship race in Athens. His second place finish placed him in the third place position of the all-time world list in his division. Another memorable win included Fermin’s bronze win in 1998 when he raced in the European Championships in Budapest.

In 1999, Fermin Cacho Ruiz finished fourth in the World Championship. Additionally, he became the European record holder for the 1500 meter race. His time is recorded at 3:28.95. Fermin Cacho Ruiz’s accomplishments include being one of only three men to have secured the gold medal twice while running the 1500m.
