Beth Bowley became a fashion designer at a young age, when she made wardrobes for her stuffed animals. As a young fashionista in rural Maine, Bowley did not have much of an audience. But, she created her first "must have" items by the time she was in sixth grade.
Bowley won a scholarship to the Parsons School of Design in New York, and she graduated from that school with honors. She then worked for designer Perry Ellis, gaining experience that would enable her to open her own Design Services company.
In the spring of 1998, Bowley launched her first Beth Bowley collection. Within a year, her line was included in some of hte country's top retailers including Henri Bendel, Barney's and Fred Segal. Her designs began to reach the pages of Elle and In Style as well. With this move, Bowley had officially made her mark in the fashion world.
Bowley favors vintage finds, cashmere for her sweaters, green and a "full skirty with a tiny sexy top." Her signature look is a little bit romantic, feminine and with a little bit of edge and sexy appeal. For Fall 2006, the Beth Bowley collection included cozy knit "coat" sweaters, romantic dresses, shapely jackets, cashmere sweaters, skinny pants and poet sleeves. Beth Bowley’s totally wearable chic core collection is punctuated with unexpected offbeat items including a pinstriped tie vest, a cashmere sweater with a cameo feature, a cropped poet sleeved jacket and much more.
Beth Bowley designs are available at specialty boutiques all over the U.S. Celebrity fans include Mischa Barton and Kristen Davis. |
