There are many mathematicians of notable consideration. However, Ruth Aaronson Bari is a woman who deserves profound attention for her accomplishments within her chosen discipline. Perhaps it is because she had such a dedication to the study of mathematics and then again, perhaps it is because she had so much to offer others with her ability to teach with skill and the love she held for numbers.
Ruth Aarnonson Bari was born in 1917 to a Polish couple that immigrated to the United States. Bari was a mathematician who made a significant impact with her work in graph theory.
Ruth began teaching at George Washington University in 1966.She taught there as a professor until her 1988 retirement. Known as a meticulous researcher, Ruth Aaronson Bari was known also for her love of mathematics. She followed through with her ideas and her commitment to her chosen line of work and obtained her PhD long after many of her colleagues had already secured their own.
Ruth had a special talent for mathematics. Her work with chromatic polynomials was something of ingenious. However, Ruth understood math and found ways to teach others how to learn, understand and appreciate the elements within the realm of mathematical study.
Ruth Aaronson Bari died in 2005 leaving behind two daughters. She will be remembered for her work in mathematics.
