He was dignified, charismatic, and an excellent speaker. President Ronald Wilson Reagan was born to John and Nelle Reagan on February 6, 1911. Born in Illinois, he worked his way through Eureka College and became a radio sports announcer.
In 1937, he went for a screen test and soon, Ronald Reagan was in the limelight. For the next two decades, Ronald Reagan would star in over fifty films. He married actress Jane Wyman and they had two children. Then he married Nancy Davis and they had two children. Nancy was an actress also and after the two married, they became inseparable.
Ronald Wilson Reagan was a leader from the very beginning. Even Hollywood recognized it. He became the president of the Screen Actors Guild and in 1966; he was elected as the Governor of California. In 1970, he was re-elected which wasn’t a surprise since he won the first election by over one million votes.
1980 brought with it a Republican nomination and soon after he won the election for the President of the United States of America. President Jimmy Carter wasn’t elected for a second term.
In January of 1981, Ronald Wilson Reagan became the 40th President of the United States. He was shot a little over two months later but he survived the shooting and showed his remarkable ability to bounce back even in the face of adversity.
The Reagan-Bush Administration was an administration where the years were prosperous and the U.S. was at peace overall. President Reagan served his country for two terms as President of the United States. He died in 2004.
