Jesus Christ ( - 26-36 AD/CE )  Category ( Religious_Leaders_Figures ) [suggest a correction]

Those of Christian faith believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he was sent to earth to die on the cross to save all sinners from sin offering them everlasting life. Jesus Christ was the son of God born to the virgin Mary. His earthly father was believed to be Joseph but Mary and Joseph were not married when Mary conceived. She was, in fact, a virgin and giving birth to Jesus Christ was in fact, a miracle.

There are many stories that surround the story of Jesus Christ but the only true accounts of his life can be found in the Holy Bible. The early years of his life are detailed and chronicled in the gospels of Luke and Matthew.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Soon after his birth, he was placed in a manager in a stable because there wasn't any room anywhere else for them on the night Christ was born. In the book of Matthew, there's a story that is told about the Wise Men who traveled to see Jesus and they came to view the child bringing gifts with them to celebrate the birth of God's son.

Born the King of the Jews, Jesus Christ's purpose was to save others from their sins. He was reared in the care of Mary and Joseph in Galilee. Some believe that he helped Joseph in the carpentry business for the first thirty years of his life.

Jesus was baptized later in life, around the age of thirty, and then he went into fasting for forty days and forty nights where it is also believed that the devil tried to tempt Jesus on three separate occasions. Each time the devil appeared; Jesus quoted words from the Bible turning the devil away.

While Jesus Christ lived on earth, he preached and he performed miracles. He healed the sick and cast out demons. Some of his miracles included walking on water and turning water into wine. There were believers and non-believers just as there are today.

In his later years, Jesus Christ was brought before Pilate (Roman Ruler) and he asked him if he was the son of God. When Jesus told him that he was, he offered him up to an apparently angry crowd and the confirmed decision was made by them. He would be crucified.

After Jesus was crucified, he arose from the dead. This happened three days after he was crucified. His life, death, crucifixion and promise of eternal salvation are all recorded in the Hebrew Bible.
