Joe Oliver Naylor was born in 1893. Naylor was born in San Antonio, Texas and very little is know about his early years or his life, for that matter. Naylor attended a Texas high school and went on to college at a business college located in San Antonio.
After college, Naylor began Naylor Printing. His company became a very successful large print book company specializing in regional books. As a publisher, Naylor was very successful and fully operational with his own print and binding facility enabling him to be self reliant as a business executive.
Joe Naylor supported other Texas authors and offered them advice whenever possible. Naylor's Epic-Century was a quarterly journal that he published for over twenty years. Naylor was married to Valerie Stone and the couple had two children. However, after his first wife's death, he remarried Rita Hall in 1943 and they were married until Joe's death in 1955.
Joe Oliver Naylor left behind his legacy in publishing. He will always be remembered for the impact that he had on regional publishing in his local area and specifically in Texas.
